Johnny Garrett is committed to working with President Trump and supporting his America First agenda. After President Trump took office in 2016, Johnny saw the need for more America First fighters, which is why he ran for State Representative in 2018 to ensure Tennessee continues to be a bastion for the American First movement and conservative values. Now he wants to help President Trump pass his America First Agenda fighting for economic prosperity and safe communities in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Johnny knows that border security is national security. Too many leaders before Donald Trump refused to act, and every state has become a border state. That’s why Johnny took action in the Tennessee House to implement a State Border Czar who will work hand in glove with ICE to deport all illegal aliens from the Volunteer State. Johnny believes that a physical border wall is a necessity to keep our border secure for years to come. He is also fully committed to supporting President Trump’s use of the military and Guantanamo Bay to deport illegal immigrant criminals out of our country, stop the flow of drugs across our border, and keep terrorists from coming into our country.

As the father of two daughters, Johnny understands the importance of keeping men out of women’s sports, and especially out of their locker rooms. That’s why Johnny has been an advocate for President Trump and his fellow Sumner Countian Riley Gaines since the very beginning. As State Representative, Johnny passed legislation banning men from competing in women’s sports and will continue to stand up for common sense in Washington to protect women’s sports.

Johnny believes in economic freedom, American workers, freedom from government overreach, and ensuring the federal government lives within its means. Johnny knows that the key to real economic growth is through small government conservative policies that he has championed in the Tennessee House. As State Representative and Majority Whip in Tennessee, Johnny has led the fight for a balanced budget each year. Tennessee has passed a balanced budget every year that he has been in office, and this year alone, the State of Tennessee is putting another $36 million dollars into the State’s rainy-day fund. Johnny believes that if Tennessee families and the State have to balance their budget, the federal government should too.

Tennessee is proof that fiscal conservatism works, and Johnny believes that we need more Tennessee in Washington. That’s why he will always fight to lower taxes and ensure that President Trump’s 2017 tax cuts are not only permanent, but also expand them further to keep more money in your own pocket, not the government’s. We shouldn’t tax social security, tips or overtime.

As a proud gun owner and lifetime member of the NRA, Johnny believes that our Second Amendment is one of our most important freedoms that we enjoy in our country. Every American has the Constitutional right to bear arms, and as your Congressman, he’ll always fight for that right.

Johnny believes Israel has a fundamental right to defend itself against terrorist organizations such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the world’s largest state sponsor of terror, Iran. The United States has a moral obligation to protect Israel and protecting Israel protects our interests in the Middle East. President Trump made us proud when he kept the long-made promise to Israel to move our Embassy to Jerusalem, and he continues to lead with strength. It is imperative that we continue to support our strongest ally in the Middle East. In Congress, Johnny will work with President Trump to ensure Israel has every available resource to defend itself against radical Islamic terrorists.

Johnny has consistently been an advocate for our law enforcement officers and first responders at the state level to ensure Tennessee is safe and secure by passing legislation to increase health benefits for Tennessee firefighters. He led the fight to pass legislation that classifies murdering a police officer as a terrorist crime. Additionally, every year, he organizes a Turkey Shoot Fundraiser for the Volunteer Fire Department in his district, of which all the proceeds go towards the fire hall. He also believes that a strong America is the key to keeping America safe. He’ll support our military and make sure our veterans receive the care and support they need.

As a Christian and father of three children, Johnny understands the sanctity of life in all human beings. Johnny is 100% Pro-Life. He believes that life begins at conception, and he will always fight as a voice for the voiceless. Which is why he was endorsed by the Tennessee Right To Life every year he has been in the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Communist China poses a threat to our American way of life. Johnny understands the importance of standing up to China. In the State House of Representatives, Johnny has supported efforts to prevent China from buying Tennessee farmland, and in Congress, he’ll fight alongside President Trump to stand up to the CCP.

As the top industry in Tennessee, Johnny understands the importance of supporting our farmers and ranchers. In the State House, Johnny and his colleagues have cut nearly $1 million annually in local sales and use taxes on water furnished by utility districts exclusively used by farmers or for farming operations. These significant reductions allow our farmers and industry professionals to save more of their hard-earned money. In Congress, Johnny is committed to ensuring that our farmers and ranchers have the tools they need to be successful without the Government encroaching upon their livelihood. That includes supporting a farm bill for farmers.

Johnny believes the United States should be the world leader in advancing AI and emerging technologies. America must remain the primary hub for technological innovation to protect our economy and national security from threats like China and Russia. In order to achieve this, Congress must implement policies that counter China’s investments, protect American intellectual property from theft, and ensure fair global markets while safeguarding sensitive technologies. Johnny believes that the federal government should partner with American innovators to create a national standard that helps grow the sector, streamlines development, and expands access to resources, while also supporting strong domestic energy infrastructure to power AI systems without burdening consumers. Johnny understands that AI is part of the future of job creation, economic growth, and increased government efficiency, and he is committed to making sure the United States is the global leader in the artificial intelligence sector.
